Q. How can I tell if someone tried to break our locks?
A. First, take a close look at the lock and see if there are any scrapes or deep cuts near the edge of the lock.
Check out if your key turns. If it is turning different than normal, this could be an indicator the lock was tampered. If your key doesn’t turn it’s a symptom of burglar tactics such as bumping and snapping. Also check if your deadbolt has scratches.
Bumping uses an improvised key which fits within the target lock and then they hit it with a blunt object in order to force the tumblers to release.
Snapping involves the use of a hammer with any tool to snap or break the lock. We provide a FREE home safety inspection. Call us and we can evaluate your business or home. We offer 24/ 7 service
